Creative Director, Producer, and Director. Based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Two-time Guinness World Record holder (2024). UAE Golden Visa in the Creative Category. Twelve years across cultural events, government ceremonies, immersive experiences, and AI-directed content in the UAE, KSA, Egypt, and Nigeria.
Youssef Kamal Akef was born in Egypt. He now lives and works in Dubai. He started as a producer first — he learned what ideas actually cost, what they demand, and how to protect them when the pressure hits. That foundation shaped how he thinks creatively and still defines how he works.
Twelve-plus years across government ceremonies, world-record festivals, and immersive cultural experiences across the UAE, KSA, Egypt, and Nigeria. Every project a different brief. The same standard every time. A story to be told.
What he does varies by project, but at the core: develop the concept, lead the direction, and carry and protect the vision through to execution.
As Creative Director, recent work includes the Sharjah International Narrator Forum 2025 Silver Jubilee (an immersive cultural experience inspired by Ibn Battuta, Ibn Majid, and Ibn Fadlan), the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge Value Awards 2025, the Mleiha National Park media launch in Sharjah, and a private high-net-worth gathering at the Louvre Abu Dhabi for Al Dar via The WAY Studio.
As Creative Producer on the Six Flags Qiddiya City Opening in Saudi Arabia (2024), he owned the Citadel zone delivery and directed the live Alicia Keys performance under broadcast conditions.
In 2024 alone, he directed two Guinness World Records in a single season: the Largest Natural Flower Bouquet at the Al Ain Flower Festival (a 49-metre-wide arrangement featuring more than 7,000 blooms, attracting ~290,000 visitors) and the Largest Palm Leaf Sentence at the Al Ain Zoo Conservation Festival. Coverage appeared in The National, Gulf News, Emirates News Agency (WAM), Abu Dhabi Media Office, Gulf Today, Al Ittihad, Al Khaleej, Al Bayan, and others.
Akef's debut feature film as writer, director, and producer. Bilingual in English and Arabic. Described as "a psychological portrait of attachment, paralysis, and the quiet violence of staying." Currently in development.
He is also directing Noon Delivered Everywhere — an AI-directed modular short film series concept for the MENA e-commerce platform Noon.
Develop. The idea before anyone else can see it. Finding the narrative inside the brief.
Direct. On the ground. In the edit. On set. The same word covers all three because the job is the same: make it right.
Deliver. Being there when it counts. Protecting the vision to the final second.
"Creative vision outperforms budget."
